i went to the museum of history with my aunt last week to see a special exhibition of austrian and japanese armor. SO AWESOME. the armor is what i was most interested in, but we decided to look at the regular stuff on display too. sadly, there were no photographs allowed of the armor but i took a couple before i got caught. it started with when japan all came into existence – lots of super chinese influence type stuff. check out this money! the museum was right across the way from the osaka castle – so weird to see...

my apologies for the lack of posting – it’s been a busy week! i’m sure you guys are all chomping at the bit wondering what i’ve been up to ;) last week my aunt and i went to yozakura kenbutsu – where they light up the osaka castle and the cherry blossom trees around it so you can enjoy all kinds of awesome all at once. we took a bunch of pictures while we were walking to the castle. we ended up just making it 15 minutes before they closed the gates on the last night of the event! so...

last week i went out to dinner with my mom and sister. we had okonomiyaki – which a type of japanese pancake, or pizza that osaka is very famous for. i tried to document as many of the preparation steps as i could so i could more or less explain what it is to everyone. first, you order what type of meat you want – i went with pork, of course. my sister got beef, and my mom got squid. they bring all your fixing out in a little bowl – cabbage mixed w flour, egg, and water plus whatever...

This past weekend I ventured south to the bay area. It was amazing, even though I seemed to take some of this portland chill with me… I suppose I’ll have to wait until the next trip to really see a difference in temperature and weather  I absolutely love that I can spend chunks of my trips photographing my earrings and that my friends don’t get sick of it! In late september, I had the opportunity to go to Vernal, Utah. I know, not your #1 vacation spot. My best friend just moved there recently and I’d never been to Utah so I decided to visit.
